PROGRAM I
LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSING: Licensed Practical Nurses are in great
demand, and the job outlook is very good. LPNs provide basic patient care
while being supervised by nurses and other medical staff.
CURRICULUM: AIIH's LPN program is designed to provide students
with the knowledge and skills needed to administer safe, ethical,
multi-skilled, client-focussed nursing care in traditonal and alternative
environments and to sit for and pass the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX).
Classroom theory, lab work and clinical practice are combined to ensure that
students graduate with the skills and knowledge needed to be able to obtain
licensure. And there is a comprehensive final exam and review session for
the licensing exam once the coursework is completed with a passing grade.
This program is approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing.

PROGRAM II
MEDICAL ASSISTING:
If you are up for the challenge of combining administrative skills and
medical duties involved in running modern health care facilities and if you
are looking for a position that offers excellent potential for job stability
and the opportunity to help people, then you may want to consider Medical
Assisting. The American International Institute of Health (AIIH) offers
a six-month program designed to equip students who complete the course
successfully with entry-level skills needed to assist medical professionals
in a variety of health care environments. Graduates will also be well
prepared for the required state licensing exam.
Curriculum: Some topics covered in the accredited
course are human anatomy and physiology, basic chemistry, hematology, body
metabolism, pharmacology and human reproduction. There is a comprehensive
final exam. And students must complete a mandated number of on-the-job
training hours during which they receive clinical experience in hospitals,
clinics and other health care settings to ensure that they are prepared to
interact successfully with physicians and other medical staff and patients
and to ensure that they adhere to the ethical responsibilities involved in
handing confidential information.
MEDICAL ASSISTANT DUTIES: As a medical assistant your job
description may include many combined duties including, medical billing,
appointment setting, customer service, et cetera, or you may specialize in
one of many areas including any of the aforementioned or the following
professions: medical exam assistant, phlebotomists, medical transcriber, et
cetera.
